Shane Worrell is an Australian journalist with a focus on Southeast Asia. He was based in Cambodia from 2011-15, where he covered a national election and reported for The Phnom Penh Post, The Edge Review, The Economist and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Since returning home, Worrell has contributed regularly to the Nikkei Asian Review and written for Fairfax Media. He has won a Human Rights Press Award and multiple Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) awards. Worrell is a PhD candidate and sessional teacher at La Trobe University, Australia.
